A 47-year-old male with GBS, on mechanical ventilation, developed respiratory distress and hypoxemia. Chest auscultation revealed decreased breath sounds on the right side. Chest x-ray showed collapsed right lung. Bronchoscopy revealed extensive mucus plugs in the right bronchial tree. The patient's condition improved and the lung expanded after the suction of mucus plugs.
